Chandni Chowk is one of the oldest markets in Delhi (about 350 years old), originally a venue meant to be enjoyed by Mughal royalty. It is now a more egalitarian domain, accommodating vendors of all sorts but known especially for its silver market, textiles and electronics. My trips here are always an adventure due to the density of the crowd and constant motion of people on foot and on cycle rickshaws through the narrow lanes. One of my favorite lanes is the one full of accessories for weddings and and other ceremonies. The following 3 images were taken in this lane. Chandni is not as old school as it used to be - but more on this later...
